Chicago Sports Weekly Article About 4 Fans Sake

Chris Sprow, writer for Chicago Sports Weekly, recently interviewed 4 Fans Sake and included his opinions in this weeks issue.

Sprow likes the idea but thinks the movement may be 20-some years too late. There is a scary cycle of supporting our team through any circumstance and thus helping pay for poor management. Should one be forced to boycott their team to show their dismay?

Hard Work Deserves a Little Champagne

It has been a turbulent season. New management, risky spending and the uncertainty of next years owners, has all added to an already stressful baseball environment for the Chicago Cubs. Add hard work and perhaps some helpful star alignment to the melange and the Cubs are the 2007 National League Central Division Champions.

The Cubs are one step closer to ending one of the most famous droughts in sports history.

ESPN.com Thinks We Are The Ultimate Long Shot

ESPN.com senior writer Wayne Drehs referred to 4 Fans Sake as "The ultimate long shot." 4 Fans Sake agrees, it is the ULTIMATE long shot. It is the ultimate opportunity to be part of the biggest long shot in sports team ownership history!

Create an account, make a non-binding pledge, facilitate discussion, share your thoughts about the effort, and use this site as a utensil for discussion on all things Cubs.

Once you do that, be sure to read Drehs' article on ESPN.com.

Marc Ecko Buys Controversial Ball

Marc Ecko created the urban clothing line Ecko Unlimited from his dorm room when he was 20. That's smart. He also bought the Barry Bonds home run ball for $752,467.00. Smart?

At first mention many would say that the purchase is a rich egocentric's souvenir. If you read more about the purchase you will find it is quite the opposite.

MLB Gives 4 Fans Sake The Go Ahead

The 4 Fans Sake legal team recently spoke with Major League Baseball, and with great success. MLB's level of control over the league provides them the discretion to deny any one group from placing a bid for team ownership. Refusal has traditionally been the outcome with proposals pertaining to fan and community ownership.
